The Only Device That Has ‘Picard’ with Dolby Vision HDR is the Apple TV 4K.

As a life long fan of Star Trek I thoroughly enjoyed the 1st episode. Gorgeous images of space to open the show. I think there will be plenty of nostalgia sprinkled throughout the season. Data looked pretty good to me, whatever they did digitally worked well.

The whole production felt very much like a movie, with the 2.39 aspect ratio, the lighting, the acting. I’m very much looking forward to seeing more. For what its worth, TNG is my favorite TV series and First Contact my favorite Trek movie.

The Apple TV 4K is Offering CBS ALL ACCESS in 4K/Dolby Vision for ‘Star Trek Picard. Dolby Vision adds to the overall image quality. I’ve only watched about 5-10 mins so far so I may have to revise that assessment once I watch the whole episode.

HERE IS MY TV DISPLAYING HDR OPTION FOR PICARD –

But the details and colors so far pop in HDR format. Tell us what you think of the Picard in Dolby Vision, does it add more to the TV Show or it would be fine in regular HD quality, in the comments below.

It seems like it is NOT available in 4k. Just HD+DV.

  • CBS All Access is resolution is 720p. No one is getting 1080p let alone 2160.
