Mandalorian TV Review – This Was George Lucas’ Dream. A Star Wars TV Show That Lived Up To The Quality Of His Movies.

In the past, it simply couldn’t be done. It was too expensive an idea. Now though, with the release of Disney+, not only can it be done, it has been done and Star Wars as we know it will never be the same.

After a long wait, the first reviews of The Mandalorian , a Star Wars live-action series that promises to hook fans of the franchise who are not very happy with the trilogy of sequels that Disney produced in recent years, are here. According to critics who have already seen the first episode, we are facing a product that will attract mainly fans but lacks important elements to engage the general public.

Then we leave the first reactions to 27 minutes of footage of The Mandalorian that some critics could see and comment. The series premieres on November 12.This is what I have been waiting for from Star Wars! While I love the Skywalker saga, I wanted to see new characters and places explored in depth, which can only be done in multiple episodes in series format. I can’t wait to see more of The Mandalorian.

I saw 27 minutes from The Mandalorian. It’s as amazing as you want it to be. I can’t say anything specific, but one scene answered a question that I don’t think has been explained / shown in any Star Wars movie. I love that it opens the Star Wars universe in a new and great way.

I just saw 27 minutes of footage of The Mandalorian and I really cried. I can’t say much, but – This is real and it’s happening and it feels SO FUCKING STAR WARS.

Wow. The Mandalorian is completely amazing. I watched almost half an hour of footage of what they told me were the first three episodes. Whoever you think Nick Nolte interprets … the answer will surprise you.It also seems as expensive as it is: they didn’t skimp on this one. Spaceships, creatures, etc., all with good effects. I can’t wait for the full episodes.

I saw ~ 27 minutes of footage of The Mandalorian this morning. It’s always hard to make sense of a lot of disconnected scenes, but it looks intense, surprisingly dark and very expensive.

You all know me. They know how I make a living. They know that I am not the biggest fan of STAR WARS. But let me tell you: THE MANDALORIAN footage looked fucking * amazing *.

Oh wow, THE MANDALORIAN footage looks amazing. We saw IG-88 attack, we saw Salacious Crumb being grilled to be eaten. And Werner Herzog as a kind of galactic gangster who has his own Stormtroopers team.

The most important thing for me of The Mandalorian footage was the Mandalorian riding a Dewback and that the Scout Troopers of the Return of the Jedi era returned to the speeder bikes of the time.

I saw almost 30 minutes of footage of The Mandalorian this morning. It’s really amazing. It looks like movies, feels innate in Star Wars, introduces new concepts and adds layers that people have been waiting to see for a long time.

The project has high expectations since it was announced, as many Star Wars fans have been waiting for stories parallel to the main saga to be told on the screen. The Mandalorian has as its protagonist a member of the warrior race to which Jango Fett and Boba Fett belonged, two very popular bounty hunters for their peculiar combat suit.

According to what we can read in these first reviews and what they let us guess the advances presented above, The Mandalorian is also a production that depends significantly on nostalgia for the first trilogy and its western appearance. Perhaps the most impressive of these initial comments (and it is something that had already been announced) is that they confirm the effort and economic investment reflected in each frame, this does not seem an average series but a 6-hour film.

The Mandalorian features Jon Favreau ( Iron Man – The Iron Man – 93% , The Jungle Book – 95% ) as showrunner and with the directors Taika Waititi ( Thor: Ragnarok – 92% ), Rick Famuyiwa ( Trapped in the Ninety – 89% ), Deborah Chow ( Jessica Jones -69% ) and Bryce Dallas Howard . In the cast we find Pedro Pascal , Gina Carano , Giancarlo Esposito , Carl Weathers , Nick Nolte and Werner Herzog , among others.

It is too early to give a final verdict on the series, since only the first chapter has been reviewed, but in the coming weeks we will continue to keep you informed:

Kelly Lawler in USA Today :As a large and bombastic first entry into the live-action television space, “Mandalorian” is a bit of a disappointment. 

Articulated around a protagonist designed to be dark (he never takes off his helmet, and even his voice is modulated in a soft monotony), there is little in the way for an emotional connection that is made with the first episode (they did not put provision other [chapters] for critics). Not much different from the prequel movie “Rogue One,” “Mandalorian” captures the aesthetics of the “Star Wars” universe without understanding its heart.

Jorge Loser in Espinof :[…] it is impossible not to pay full attention when you drop details of what is happening in the Star Wars universe after ‘Return of the Jedi’ (Return of the Jedi, 1983), although it is not capable of Get out of your status as expensive fan fiction, especially in details that evaporate the magic of the original trilogy, as a certain use of music that clashes with your old school intentions – the mix of practical and digital effects is great – and sometimes left See too much of Marvel’s playful Favreau in some characters that talk more about the account.

Chris Taylor in Mashable :If there is a word without spoilers to describe episode 1 of The Mandalorian, the Star Wars live-action television show now available on Disney +, that word would be “cinematic.” Jon Favreau, more a director-author than a showrunner, has given us what the first 40 minutes of a Star Wars movie look like that will last about six hours in total. This is good and bad news.

Lorraine Ali in the Los Angeles Times :The first installment of the eight-episode sci-fi drama is packed with bounty hunters, grotesque aliens barking in bars and a narrative that should make a lot of sense to “Star Wars” fans, because it’s so confusing to the rest of us.

Alex Haslam on Radio Times :Although this first episode has problems, these suspense questions and the feeling of nostalgia linked can make you come back for more.

Chris E. Hayner on Gamespot :As for the first episode, The Mandalorian is a bit irregular. He manages to establish the ongoing plot of the series, present some key characters, include some Star Wars references that fans will be looking for and end with a twist that viewers will surely talk about. However, it does a bad job of introducing you to the characters. In addition, this episode only expects viewers to absorb a lot of information that, unless you are a staunch. Star Wars fan, will seem quite useless.
