Ahsoka Tano From “Star Wars Clone Wars” Will Be Getting Her Own Live-Action TV Series on Disney+
Disney
According to Daniel Richtman, he revealed that due to the popularity of the character, the Ahsoka Tano series is already being prepared for the Disney + platform.
Both Disney and LucasFilm have redoubled their efforts to follow the character in independent stories, which may not only be directly related to The Mandalorian, but to other Star Wars stories as well.
Yesterday was essentially the equivalent of a post-Death Star destruction Ewok party in the Star Was community as fans were delighted to see a fan favorite character, Ahsoka Tano, realized onscreen in The Mandalorian for the first time outside of Dave Filoni’s animated shows.
Ahsoka, played by Rosario Dawson, was an unequivocal hit among fans, and no doubt that’s exact what Disney was counting on.
It remains unclear if we will see Ahsoka again in The Mandalorian itself. She seems to be preoccupied with her own problems, pursuing Grand Admiral Thrawn (another name-drop that caused Star Wars fans to freak out) while Mando and Baby Yoda, sorry, Grogu, are now heading in a new direction.
Of course, I believe this is all leading to a long-running theory I’ve had, that Ahsoka was always meant to be a guest star in Mando then leap into her own spin-off series, one that we can pray to god will be run by Dave Filoni, like The Mandalorian is run by Jon Favreau.
All the stars are aligned for this to happen. First, we have this quote from Bob Iger spelling out that Mando would be introducing new characters meant for spin-offs, and if that’s not Ahsoka, then who?
“The priority in the next few years is television with The Mandalorian season 2 coming in October, and then more coming from The Mandalorian thereafter, including the possibility of infusing it with more characters and the possibility of taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series.”
Then we have the casting of Rosario Dawson, a very well known actress, to play Ahsoka, a huge fan favorite character. Those two things combined do not really add up to “one-off guest star” on The Mandalorian, and I believe the intention from the moment they said they were going to introduce her was to give her a spin-off.
The Thrawn angle seems like a storyline for her show, not The Mandalorian. I believe we will see Bo-Katan return and a storyline involving Mandalore, given her connection to Moff Gideon, who is the main villain of The Mandalorian. All of that ties together.
While Thrawn could be pulling Gideon’s strings, I believe that he’s being saved for Ahsoka’s show, and it’s possible she is still continuing her search for fellow Jedi Ezra Bridger with Sabine from Rebels, where both of those characters may appear on her show in live-action form as well.
Giving this series to Filoni is obviously an easy call. We know that he’s doing a “Bad Batch” animated series for Disney Plus, but it’s hard to imagine an Ahoska series not being his baby. Lately, there have been calls for Favreau and Filoni to essentially start directing the entire Star Wars universe as the ups and downs of the last five theatrical films fade, while The Mandalorian is delighting fans every week.
My guess is that we won’t hear Disney announce an Ahsoka series until this season of The Mandalorian is ended. We also have a limited series about Obi-Wan coming, along with a show starring Rogue One’s Cassian Andor. But an Ahsoka series would probably get people more hyped than either of those.
I have no idea what surprises the last three episodes of The Mandalorian have in store, and I am the most curious about Ahsoka saying that another Jedi might show up to help Grogu with his force journey, as we are literally running out of possible alive Jedi in this universe. It’s going to be quite a finale, I imagine. And quite a day when they finally do announce an Ahsoka spin-off, which they would be crazy not to.

So…. it’s Grogu, why not Yogu?
Because it sounds like yogurt LOL
Worst acting on the show I’ve seen so far. Her monotone lines were akin to “ I’m going to leave and go to Starbucks now”. Wow!
