It’s official! We’re getting a Knights of the Old Republic movie!
Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy Confirms Star Wars’ Knights Of The Old Republic Project
Though there isn’t a timetable for any of Lucasfilm’s new Star Wars movies outside of Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker yet, the studio’s president Kathleen Kennedy confirms that there really is a potential Knights of the Old Republic project on the rise.
Speaking in an interview with MTV News, Kennedy confirmed that a Knights of the Old Republic movie is officially on the table for Lucasfilm, though the producer decided to remain tight-lipped on any other details about the project.
Last month, there was a rumor running up and down the mill saying that Game of Thrones showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff were actually working on this Knights of the Old Republic movie, however, we can’t really be sure without any direct confirmation from Lucasfilm. We do know however that Kennedy is working closely with Weiss and Benioff – after all, the two are set to develop a new Star Wars trilogy for the franchise.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson also has a trilogy on the way and word has it that the filmmaker is working on something entirely new for the franchise. The only question now is how long the so-called Star Wars hiatus will take place and when exactly will these films release.
We’re hoping we’ll get to see more Star Wars films in the next two years or so.
