Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige talks about The Eternals and Shang Chi in an interview with Variety.
Marvel might have been keeping mum about its plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers: Endgame, however, the studio’s been pretty open about its plans for prequel films like The Eternals, Black Widow, and Shang-Chi.
Now, as Avengers: Endgame approaches its premiere, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige talks about The Eternals and Shang Chi in an interview with Variety. The Marvel executive might seem a bit tight-lipped about the series, but he does tease a whole lot of excitement for fans waiting for both films, saying that the Marvel movies would introduce a new group of heroes and villains who embark on adventures that will eventually overlap.
“Some of these films will feature characters that you already know,” Feige told the entertainment news outlet, “Some supporting characters will assume leading roles, while some new characters will be introduced. The reward for all of these films working is that we get to try to do it again and do it differently and learn from our mistakes and try something we haven’t tried before.”
Aside from The Eternals and Shang-Chi, Feige also discusses the upcoming shows that Marvel Studios is preparing for Disney’s new streaming site, Disney+. Last week, Disney confirmed Loki, Wandavision, Falcon and The Winter Soldier, as well as Hawkeye, for its new streaming platform.
These projects might seem like unimportant strings of mini-series, however, Feige promises fans that episodes from the show would “intersect with the movies in a very big way,” explaining that the medium as a “totally new form of storytelling that we get to play with and explore.”
